Roof Restoration Appeal - £400,000 needed!
  
  
 This Sunday - May 13th 2012 - sees the launch of our Roof Restoration Appeal which aims to raise the money to replace the church roof and carry out essential works such as replacing the electrical system. 
 
 £400,000 may seem like a large sum, but the church is a Grade 1 listed buidling and special care is required when restoring it.
 
Though it is a lot of money to raise, we are confident we can achieve it, as did the congregation back in the 1940s ....

 The picture above is the front cover of a brochure produced in 1946. 
 
 During the Second World War, the church was very badly damaged and the congregation had to find £1,000 to meet part of the restoration cost. Click on the picture above, to see the entire brochure.

 We will be holding fund-raising events in the coming weeks and months, so please do come along and support us. We will publish details here as well as in our church notices and the board outside the vicarage in Wordsworth Road.
